A lovely review on The Knot from one of my brides:
"I cannot possibly rave enough about Heather! I moved to Houston and needed my dress altered less than a month away from the wedding. It's been 2.5 weeks: My dress is PERFECTLY altered, AND she made a vest, bowtie, and pocket square out of the extra material for my dad! And the price cannot be beat, truly. Not only is her handiwork impeccable, but she is so fun and easy going - easily makes any bride feel welcome - and even sends picture updates! She was flexible with me only being able to meet in the evenings, which was SO stress-free as a bride. If you are a bright in Houston, GO TO HEATHER. She will NOT disappoint!"
She made me the most incredible quilt out of my Dad's shirts. So beautiful I cry when I look at it. She is amazing. She is kind. She is reasonable. She is fair. I would use her for any quilts/ altering that I have. Her work is impeccable!!
I'm so very excited ! You have been a joy to work with!!! You took my basic idea and made it really beautiful !!
You are very talented !!!
Thank you !!!
I love it! It looks great! I think it will look really awesome with my suit pants and suspenders too.
It's GORGEOUS and EXACTLY what I envisioned. I'm so IN LOVE!!!
Steampunk Poison Ivy - I came to the Singing Seamstress with a concept and she created a piece of art that I am so proud to own and wear. Her attention to detail and craftsmanship is outstanding. I would highly recommend her for any project! ~Ruth
She loved everything! Thank u so much, for helping to make this day amazing for her!
You know, I'm so glad I had the good common sense to empower your creative spirit for this vest. Many thanks!
Just wanted you to know....I'm SO pleased!
This dress was made for me for a theatre show and it is so gorgeous! I got so many compliments after the show and I wore it to Dickens on the Strand. I knew what I wanted and was glad for the help with fabric choices and design and the promptness of the work!
My wife got me the coolest gift ever. She had my old blue jeans and T-shirts from camping trips, ski trips, etc. made into an awesome quilt.
I love my new vest from the Singing Seamstress!
I love it! it's exactly what I wanted. it took a long time to collect that many bags. I am very happy!!
This goes out to the very best seamstress in Houston: Heather Gabriel.
I want you to know how much I appreciate all the beautiful work that you did to fix my daughter Catherine Tuel wedding dress she was a vision of beauty, she was stunning and I owe it all to you. Therefore, from the bottom of my heart I thank you so very much you made her special day look even more beautiful than words can say, much love.
So in love with these jewels! Quilts made out of the girls baby clothes and another coming with Joey's baby clothes. Happy Mama! Heather Gabriel is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone!
Friends, thespians, and those who love great design that lasts...I cannot express how pleased I am with two costumes The Singing Seamstress has created for me. First, as Santa with interchangeable features to create a unique piece for several occasions. Secondly, my gambesome and kilt for Macbeth was done wonderfully and on a short time frame. Heather has mad skills...you will not be disappointed!
I LOVE both my quilts! The tee-shirt quilt is just right for snuggling down on the couch when I'm feeling down - keeps me warm as I scarf down popsicles lol...and reminds me of [some of the] great plays [if I do say so myself] I've directed/acted/helped with at Theatre Suburbia. The larger one was a surprise at a time when I most needed it...all purply and delicious...I wrap up in it on the couch, too, but use it more as a summer quilt on the bed - but no matter where I have it I am reminded not only of Jimmy Carper, my friend, but also that Heather's loving hands made it at a time when I desperately need hugs from him but knew I couldn't have them...not just a lot of thread and material...a lot of love and memories all put together in a 'fun' way that makes it easy to show them off! Thanks, Heather! You need to stop making quilts for folks like me and find a store that will stock them as specialty items!
This afternoon I picked up this beautiful custom-made memory quilt from the lovely and creative Heather Gabriel (aka The Singing Seamstress). The squares are made from various Relay for Life t-shirts Mom and Dad had collected over the years through their tireless work raising funds to fight the wicked disease called cancer I will be taking this to Mom when I fly back on Friday. I know she will love it just as I do. Take a close look. The square "Finish the Fight" is placed very near where it would cover one's heart. How perfect. Thank you so much, Heather.
